Window and Façade Systems

Window Automation, Manual Opening and Architectural Glass Louvre Systems

EBSA designs, supplies and supports automated and manual remote window operation, natural ventilation, smoke control, control panels and architectural glass louvre systems for building projects throughout New Zealand.

Our commercial-grade systems are used across education, healthcare, custodial, residential, civic and commercial buildings where reliable operation, technical coordination and long-term support are important.

We support system selection, technical documentation, integration, supply, installation coordination, programming, commissioning, service and maintenance.

Core window operation

Automated and manual remote window opening

Manual and automated remote window operation form a central part of EBSA’s work. We support projects ranging from straightforward high-level window opening through to integrated commercial-grade window automation and control systems.

Window Automation

Electric chain drives, rack and pinion drives, control panels, sensors, switches and interfaces for automated windows, roof openings, skylights and operable façade systems.

EBSA can assist with actuator selection, opening geometry, brackets, control strategy, field cabling, panel requirements, programming and commissioning support.

Manual Window Operation

Manual shaft and lever systems and remote manual winders provide practical operation of high-level windows, grouped openings and natural ventilation applications.

EBSA can help determine the most suitable manual operating arrangement based on the number of windows, reveal depth, winder location, window geometry, blinds and internal finishes.

Ventilation and building control

Coordinated opening systems for building operation

Natural Ventilation Systems

Natural ventilation systems may use automated windows, operable louvres or appropriately selected manual opening systems to provide day-to-day ventilation and support the building’s operating strategy.

Automated systems can incorporate local switches, temperature and indoor-air quality inputs, weather sensors, schedules and building management system interfaces.

Smoke Ventilation and Smoke Control

EBSA supplies and supports automated windows, façade openings, louvres, drives and smoke ventilation control panels used within project-specific smoke ventilation and smoke control strategies.

Our work includes equipment selection, control panel design, fire alarm and building-services interfaces, wiring requirements, programming and commissioning coordination.

Project support

Support from early design through long-term operation

Operable windows and façade systems need to be coordinated with the opening element, structure, electrical services, control strategy, building interfaces and future access requirements. EBSA helps project teams define these requirements before they become site issues.

Our work often sits between the builder, aluminium joiner, electrician, mechanical contractor, fire contractor, BMS contractor and consultant team. We help coordinate the products, wiring requirements, programming, interfaces and delivery responsibilities needed for the system to operate as intended.

  • System design and product selection
  • Actuator force, stroke and bracket review
  • Window, façade and louvre coordination
  • Control panel sizing and zoning
  • Electrical and field-cabling requirements
  • Fire alarm, BMS and mechanical interfaces
  • Installation and delivery coordination
  • Programming and commissioning support
  • Technical documentation and schematics
  • Service, maintenance and replacement support
