Hotel Kurrajong Canberra
The 2015 redevelopment of the heritage listed Hotel Kurrajong in Canberra provided the design team with a challenge to retain the open outdoor dining environment whilst providing an unobtrusive barrier to the elements.
EBSA’s G12 BS architectural frameless glass louvres were selected as the perfect choice to complement this project, offering larger 300mm blades and the ability to be glazed in commercial quality glass (up to 17.52mm) to meet most performance requirements.
An important element in EBSA’s louvre systems is the use of a metal rack and gear operating mechanism, a feature of the highest German design quality and something that differentiates EBSA’s louvres from the rest of the market.
The decision to choose EBSA’s G12 BS louvre system was an investment in quality which will be recouped through years of trouble free operation in a commercial environment.
The G12 BS louvres were installed with geared winder mechanisms which unlike traditional “map rods” used on domestic louvres, feature a geared mechanism either with removable or fixed winders to deliver extremely smooth operation.
